We’d like to invite you to once again join us for an evening of entertainment and celebration, recognising the amazing young people in our community. Greg Rutherford is a British Long Jumper who shot to fame with his gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games during what became known as ‘Super Saturday’. After that win Rutherford’s streak began, winning European, Commonwealth and World Championship titles respectively in years to follow.

Between September 2015 to June 2016, Rutherford held every available elite outdoor title; national, continental, World, Olympic, Diamond League and Commonwealth. As such in 2015, Rutherford topped the 2015 IAAF Diamond League rankings in the event.

In 2016 Rutherford made notable waves on television, successfully reaching the ninth week of hit reality series ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

Rutherford will be joining us for the duration of the evening to be our guest speaker and award our 2019 young champions.

We also see the return of Olympic legend, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards!

Eddie rose to fame at the 1988 Calgary Games, in which he represented what many felt was the true meaning of sport – enjoyment and participation.

Having spoken at Young Champions 2018, Eddie became the patron of Inner Flame, and as such will be joining the audience in 2019 to celebrate new stories of success.
