Is Inner Flame a religious or spiritual organisation?

No. Inner Flame is independent of any religious organisation (or political, for that matter). Neither is it "spiritual" except in the sense that what we do is very much about "Human Spirit" – i.e. whatever drives and motivates each one of us.

So why the name?

Well, we had a working title that we loved – "Right Now!" – but then we spoke to some young people. They told us it sounded like their parents telling them to clean up their room… however, they really liked "Fire Me Up!" as a course title and also "Inner Flame", so we picked this as our theme. It seems to be a phrase that has meaning for people from all backgrounds and beliefs – all of those meanings personal and different!

We should also point out that we’re not connected with any other organisation with a similar name. We admire the work of the Flame Institute, we don’t offer Firewalks in Toronto or Taunton (although several of us have done a Firewalk), and I’ve never heard the music of Rainer Ptacek…
